Senior Test Technician - Chelmsford, MA

We are looking for a Senior Test Technician.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be a key member of a small, tightly-knit Operations team helping to test and debug our products for shipment or when returned for upgrade or repair.

In addition, you will work with Engineering to develop production tests and assist in authoring processes for new product introductions to ensure efficient delivery of high quality product.   Similarly, you will work with Engineering and Quality Assurance to review, develop and continuously improve our test procedures, methods, and facilities. 

Desired Skills & Experience
  • At least ten years of experience testing and debugging complex, high speed (GHz+) mixed signal electronics, demonstrating the ability to analyze test data for conformance and to debug and correct non-conformance.
  • Expert knowledge of analog test/debug equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering documentation.
  • Consistently demonstrated determination to achieve the required results.
  • Demonstrated record of identifying opportunities for improvement and making them happen.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced small team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Senior IT Administrator - Chelmsford, MA

The Senior IT Administrator will be the internal IT support team.   S/he will perform System Administration duties in a heterogeneous environment including a dozen Windows/Linux servers and 50+ workstations in the US and UK. The successful candidate will manage technical projects from start to finish providing technical plans and working cross-functionally to create scalable service solutions, identify creative solutions that fit into the overall enterprise IT framework, and provide baseline performance reporting to measure service levels and identify areas for improvement. There will be day to day tasks and duties that involve working on technical support tickets, generating/updating required documentation and performing service checks for the deployed enterprise environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear ability to work under self-direction to achieve initiative goals and produce results based on communicated deadlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage Windows Server/Linux/Solaris infrastructure for various applications in both corporate and Engineering environments
  • Interface with various departments, gather requirements and assist in project planning
  • Assist in monitoring of production environment, plan upgrades, install patches and manage scheduled downtime
  • Demonstrated ability to code in a scripting language, as well as fluency in one or more programming languages like Perl or Python in order to develop tools / programs to efficiently manage the operation and maintenance of the environment
  • Assess new technology directions and define / document planned approach for proof of concept exercises and plans for implementation within the infrastructure environment
  • Participate in security audits as needed and act on recommendations received
  • Maintain backups for UNIX, Windows, file servers and I/T infrastructure
  • Management of TCP/IP network including DHCP, DNS, Print Service, Mail Relay
  • Management of Anti-virus for Servers, Exchange and Client Computers and Anti-Spam technologies
  • End user training on Network and PC tools and resources
  • Management of Site-to-Site VPN's, Firewalls and Windows Desktop User / Network Management
  • Management of infrastructure such as wikis, development repositories & databases
  • Support remote access systems (SSH, Cisco VPD, IPSec)
  • Develops, documents and promotes standard operating procedures
  • Provide telephone (PBX & VoiceMail) installation, configuration and support
  • Remote and Local End-User Client support (Networking, OS, Application)
 Requirements:
  • B.A. or B.S. in a related technical field of study or equivalent evidence of continuing study
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in administering a heterogeneous environment
  • MS Certifications are desirable (MCSA, MCSE or equivalents)
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux and UNIX systems administration in addition to Windows systems administration.  SAMBA and NFS knowledge expected, as well as NIS/NIS+ familiarity
  • VMware (vSphere4) administration
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, routers, firewalls and VPN Solutions
  • Working knowledge of backup technologies (Accuvault and Backup Exec) is a plus
  • Microsoft SQL server installation and configuration
  • Possess system security implementation/maintenance focus
  • Regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to come up to speed on new technologies quickly
  • Selected applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. Citizenship required
Skills:
  • Must possess good problem solving and investigative skills, comfortable with researching and recommending new solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences, including technical staff and management
  • Comfortable from the hardware up to the OS and software
  • Ability to configure and optimize network connectivity
  • Extremely high accuracy and attention to detail, multi-tasking concurrent project schedules and deadlines following standard project management principles
  • Determined appropriate work methods, plans, schedules, and prioritizes based on goals and objective to be achieved
  • Skilled in teamwork, adaptability and flexible with work hours
Special work Schedule Requirements:
  • Occasionally it might be necessary to schedule, facilitate, or perform off hours work in order to achieve project goals or to observe change control processes for production environments.

Assistant Purchaser - Chelmsford, MA

Tekmicro is currently looking for an assistant purchaser.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be a key member of a small, tightly-knit Operations team that builds and delivers our products.  Duties will include:

  • Processing purchase requisitions and issuing purchase orders
  • Negotiating with vendors
  • Working with vendors to expedite orders as necessary

In addition, you will work with other members of the Operations team improving our processes and capabilities as we continue our exceptional growth.

Skills and Experience
  • 2+ years purchasing experience
  • MS Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Experience with inventory control a plus
