Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Position Summary:
As a key member of the TEK Microsystems development team you will be responsible for architecting and developing a wide range of software products, applications and systems. Often working as part of multi-disciplinary team, you will be involved in developments on a range of platforms and operating systems and at a range of levels including system design and architecture, development of device drivers in support of new hardware developments, development of BSPs as well as signal processing and user interfaces. On an as-needed basis you will also be required to perform applications engineering for the capture and interpretation of customer requirements and to assist in generating proposals and responses.
This is a senior level engineering opportunity within TEK Microsystems that will offer technical authority responsibilities as well as opportunities for mentorship, collaboration as well as supervisory experience.
Position Responsibilities:
- Software development and architectures for Embedded Systems and in support of TEK Microsystems' products.
- Architecture, review, validation and coordination of Software Releases.
- Developments in Windows, Linux and VxWorks environments and across a range ofplatforms.
- Mentorship and technical leadership for other members of software development teams.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in C & C++ programming
- Experience, knowledge and commitment on software engineering processes, standards and project management.
- Experience of working with Windows and Linux operating systems at the application level and at the device driver level.
- Familiarity with x86 and PowerPC processors.
- Effective Communication and Team Leadership.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
- Experience in RTOS (such as VxWorks) and low-level device driver and embedded systems development experience would be beneficial.
- Experience and knowledge in Mil/Aero applications such as SigInt and Elint would be beneficial.
- Familiarity and experience in utilizing VME, Ethernet, PCI, SCSI, Fibre Channel, sFPDP and other protocols would be beneficial.
- Single Board Computer first power-up support, configuration and optimization experience highly useful.
- Flexible, professional and positive attitude towards customers, quality and
- commitments.
Minimum Education requirements:
- BSCS, BSEE or equivalent.
- MS degree a plus
- A minimum of 8 years experience including several years in a team leadership role
