QuiXilica VXS Product Line Extended to OpenVPX Architecture
QuiXilica Supports Best in Class A/D and D/A Interfaces with FPGA Processing
Boston, MA – October 19, 2009 –At the MilCom Conference, TEK Microsystems, Incorporated, a leading provider of high performance signal acquisition and processing solutions for the embedded defense / intelligence market, today announced its support for the OpenVPX system architecture. Tekmicro has been engaged with the OpenVPX working group since its formation and strongly believes that the goals of the group -- better interoperability across VPX board level products -- is one that is aligned with the needs of our customers.
Tekmicro's existing QuiXilica product line based on the ANSI/VITA 41 (VXS) standard already combines best-in-class signal acquisition and generation technology with Xilinx Virtex 5 FPGA processing and has been designed into numerous defense and intelligence programs for both laboratory and deployed environments. By extending the QuiXilica product line into OpenVPX, Tekmicro can offer our customers a wider range of choices and form factors for their programs based on a common hardware, firmware and software architecture.

Our QuiXtream architecture for network-enabled FPGA processing further adds to the scalability and modularity of QuiXilica-based systems, protecting the user's investment in both firmware and software across a very wide range of SWAP targets."
Tekmicro is planning a range of OpenVPX compliant products using Xilinx Virtex 5 and Virtex 6 FPGA technology for delivery in 2010. Additional details about these products will be announced in the coming months.
